Decision Engineering Team Lead (AI)

Location: On-site in New York, NY; Austin, TX; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $269,000–$335,000 base salary per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead a small team of Decision Engineers, set technical direction, and maintain a high delivery standard.
• Build and ship AI-powered tools and agents for infrastructure development and delivery workflows.
• Identify high-impact AI augmentation opportunities and deliver tools with measurable productivity gains.
• Design and maintain shared AI infrastructure, including AGENTS.md, SKILLS.md, and reusable organizational skills.
• Develop engineers through technical reviews, guidance, and hiring.
• Partner with team and functional leadership to translate business goals into an AI tooling roadmap.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading a team while continuing to code.
• Experience shipping production systems and internal tools relied on by operational teams.
• Production-grade experience with Go, Python, and TypeScript, plus strong full-stack web application development using React, Next.js, or similar frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, MCP servers, and agentic frameworks.
• Deep understanding of AI coding agents, including Claude Code and Cursor, and the surrounding agent frameworks.
• Technical depth for architecture reviews, unblocking engineers, roadmap ownership, and communication with non-technical stakeholders.
