Applied AI Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Design, build, and ship production features for AI world models, including data collection, validation, and inference.
• Develop APIs for data validation, auto-captioning, and annotation integrated with simulators and robot hardware.
• Optimize systems for latency, cost, and quality at scale.
• Collaborate closely with world model researchers, product engineers, and customers to build reliable and user-friendly systems.
• Stay current with AI developments and provide recommendations to platform and research teams.

Requirements

• Location: Must work onsite in San Carlos, CA, United States
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including building and shipping ML- or AI-powered systems in production.
• Strong programming skills in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with modern AI/ML frameworks and cloud deployment.
• Excellent software engineering skills focused on performance, maintainability, and automation.
• Ability to lead projects independently and collaborate effectively.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping AI/ML systems at high scale.
• Contributions to open-source AI/ML projects or publications.
• Domain experience in robotics.
