Subcontractor Programme Manager (Space)

Location: Nottingham, United Kingdom; hybrid working model. The role requires frequent short travel, typically one or two trips per month, with travel potentially increasing to weekly depending on the workplace. The position is limited to UK nationals who hold or can obtain UK Eyes Only security clearance at SC level or above. Up to 8 weeks per year of teleworking outside the usual geographical area is available.

What you will do

• Coordinate and manage international programmes throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Support the definition of project structures, contractual frameworks, and strategic work plans.
• Monitor schedules, risks, deliverables, compliance, payments, and contractual commitments.
• Work with engineering teams to translate technical requirements into project execution and support design, validation, and major technical reviews.
• Organise and participate in project reviews, progress meetings, audits, and technical workshops with customers, partners, and subcontractors.

Requirements

• MSc in Engineering or Sciences, with a background and interest in Space or similar projects.
• Professional experience in project support, project coordination, PMO activities, project administration, or project control.
• Experience supporting international, multi-stakeholder projects and understanding of project management fundamentals.
• Experience in project or technical management, including Systems or Software Engineering methodologies and standards.
• Strong management, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English and eligibility for UK security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in space, defence, or other highly regulated engineering sectors.
• Experience with Space Ground Control or Navigation projects.
• Document management or configuration management experience.
• Spanish, French, or German language skills.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
