TL;DR
OSM Migration Service Lead (Cloud Infrastructure): Leading large-scale operational services migrations for defence and aerospace clients with an accent on cloud infrastructure, security compliance, service continuity, and customer leadership. Focus on designing target-state architectures, managing migration risks and budgets, and transitioning complex services into operational support.
Location: Farnborough, United Kingdom; onsite 5 days per week. Candidates must have the right to work in the United Kingdom and meet applicable UK Government, contractual personnel security, residency, and potential nationality requirements.

What you will do
- Lead end-to-end planning, execution, governance, and delivery of complex operational services migrations.
- Develop migration strategies, roadmaps, business impact assessments, success criteria, and target-state architectures.
- Evaluate phased, big-bang, and hybrid migration approaches based on risk, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Lead technical teams, vendors, design reviews, validation testing, and customer technical workshops.
- Manage budgets, resources, risks, issues, incidents, change requests, and executive-level reporting.
- Plan service transition and handover, including operational documentation, runbooks, training, SLAs, and performance metrics.
Requirements
- Experience in IT operations, infrastructure migration, systems implementation, or large-scale technical project delivery.
- Background leading migration programmes or technical projects, preferably valued at £2 million or more.
- Experience managing defence, aerospace, or government technology programmes and complying with security and personnel vetting requirements.
- Strong enterprise infrastructure knowledge covering data centres, servers, storage, networking, virtualisation, capacity planning, and performance optimisation.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or private cloud migration; hybrid infrastructure; configuration management; automation; infrastructure as code; and database migration.
- Knowledge of ITIL, ITSM, ServiceNow, PRINCE2, PMI, risk management, change control, business cases, funding, and large-budget management.
