Senior Editor, Data and Visual Journalism (CNBC)

Location: CNBC Headquarters, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, United States

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 yearly, bonus eligible

What you will do

• Lead a team of data visualization journalists and set the strategy for visual storytelling across CNBC.com.
• Collaborate with reporters, editors, product, engineering, and digital teams to identify data-driven opportunities.
• Translate complex datasets into clear charts, graphics, and interactive visual explanations.
• Develop real-time and dynamic visualizations for markets, policy, economic data, breaking news, enterprise stories, and special projects.
• Build reusable visual templates and components, and establish workflows and standards for chart design and editorial integrity.
• Create interactive explainers using scroll-based storytelling, animation, multimedia, and web technologies.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience creating data visualizations, information graphics, or visual journalism for a news publication.
• At least 1 year of experience leading a team.
• Strong portfolio of visual storytelling and interactive projects.
• Expertise with Datawrapper, Flourish, Tableau, Illustrator, Figma, or D3-based tools.
• Experience building interactive graphics or web experiences with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Svelte, and D3.
• Unrestricted work authorization in the United States is required.
