Field Installation and Service Technician (Test Systems)

Location: Plymouth, Michigan, United States; up to 90% travel required

What you will do

• Lead mechanical and electrical equipment installation, field wiring termination, and pneumatic/hydraulic system installation.
• Set up, configure, power up, calibrate, inspect, commission, troubleshoot, and repair test systems.
• Act as the customer liaison, provide professional service, and deliver informal operator instruction on hirify.global products.
• Document discrepancies, provide feedback to engineering, and improve troubleshooting guides and equipment effectiveness.
• Complete service progress reports, expense reports, calibration equipment maintenance, safety training, and assigned shop-floor tasks.
• Drive customer issues and follow-up items to closure while maintaining a safe, clean 5S work area.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in engineering or equivalent trade school education.
• 2+ years of experience with test automation equipment and test bed operations.
• Experience reading and interpreting USA ladder diagrams and European IEC electrical prints.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical processes, control circuits, equipment power-up, and troubleshooting.
• Strong verbal and written communication, listening, patience, and customer-service skills.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of complete test cell operation and its contents.
• Leadership or coordination experience.
• Experience with wire termination and soldering.
