Engineering Manager, Admin and CORE Platforms (TypeScript/Node.js)

Location: Hybrid from Aarhus, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, or London, or fully remote anywhere in Europe.

What you will do

• Manage the Admin and CORE engineering teams, with approximately 10 engineers initially.
• Own one-on-ones, career growth plans, performance feedback, staffing, and hiring.
• Manage capacity across both teams and remove decision-making and delivery bottlenecks.
• Partner with Product Managers on sequencing, delivery, and scope-versus-capacity trade-offs.
• Work with senior engineers and other Engineering Managers on technical leadership and cross-team initiatives.
• Help establish hirify.global's engineering management function, career framework, and future team topology.

Requirements

• Experience managing engineers, including performance conversations, growth plans, and direct feedback.
• Genuine motivation for people management and team development.
• Hands-on engineering background with the ability to read code, review designs, and contribute to project definition; TypeScript and Node.js experience is preferred.
• Experience working autonomously without a mature management function, career ladder, or established team topology.
• Strong partnership with Product and the ability to challenge scope and capacity decisions constructively.
• Excellent communication skills across a distributed, multi-country team.

Nice to have

• Experience establishing an engineering management function or management layer.
• Experience coaching senior engineers into technical leadership while supporting a strong IC track.
• Experience with configurable, multi-tenant back-office or admin systems and multiple integrations.
• Experience with GCP, Firestore, Cloud Run, food service, retail, or another operationally complex industry.
