Design System Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Copenhagen or Berlin

Salary: Up to 56,000 DKK gross/month in Denmark or up to 80,000 EUR gross/year in Germany, depending on seniority.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the design system from semantic tokens and primitives to complex, production-ready components.
• Define typography, spacing, layout, density, motion, states, responsiveness, and accessibility standards.
• Build machine-readable specifications and tooling so AI coding agents generate on-brand, on-system interfaces.
• Design and implement product experiences across Figma, React prototypes, and production code.
• Develop multi-brand theming architecture for hirify.global and white-label products.
• Automate token usage, accessibility, visual regression, and conformance checks while improving documentation, Storybook, and contribution workflows.

Requirements

• Production-level frontend engineering experience with React, TypeScript, and modern CSS.
• Experience building or evolving a design system, component library, token architecture, or similar shared product infrastructure.
• Strong UI craft and product judgement, including typography, spacing, interaction patterns, responsive states, and information-dense B2B interfaces.
• Experience with Storybook, visual regression testing, automated conformance tooling, and WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility practices.
• Comfort moving between Figma, React prototyping, production code, and AI-assisted workflows.
• Proficient spoken and written English is required.

Nice to have

• Multi-brand or white-label theming at scale.
• Experience with Figma Variables, design tokens, Code Connect, MCP, AST codemods, custom linting, or conformance tooling.
• Experience building systems that AI agents consume directly.
