Virtualisation Architect/Virtualised Solution Architect (VMware)

What you will do

• Design, build and govern VMware-based virtualisation platforms supporting mobile network and telco cloud services.
• Produce and review HLDs, LLDs, bills of materials and implementation documentation.
• Define scalable, resilient compute, storage and networking architectures, including VMware NSX-T solutions.
• Lead capacity planning, workload sizing, high-availability, disaster-recovery and failover design.
• Support workload onboarding, platform upgrades, hardware refreshes and optimisation.
• Provide technical leadership through implementation, acceptance testing and operational handover while establishing infrastructure standards and best practices.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience designing and delivering enterprise virtualised infrastructure solutions.
• Expert knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter and VMware infrastructure technologies.
• Strong understanding of VMware NSX-T, software-defined networking, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, LACP and network segmentation.
• Experience with enterprise storage technologies including vSAN, NAS, SAN, Fibre Channel and iSCSI.
• Experience with Dell EMC, Cisco UCS, infrastructure capacity modelling, workload sizing and lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of PowerCLI and Python for infrastructure automation, alongside strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in telecommunications or mobile network environments.
• Experience with VMware Telco Cloud Platform.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code and automation frameworks.
