Commercial Credit Senior Associate, NFP

Salary: $119,500–$199,100 annual USD

What you will do

• Underwrite new commercial credit requests and material modifications from deal screening through approval and throughout the life of each loan.
• Manage ongoing portfolio credit risk through annual reviews, interim updates, covenant monitoring, problem-loan management, early-warning indicators, and other surveillance activities.
• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, due diligence reports, credit bureau data, appraisals, industry research, peer data, and internal credit information.
• Prepare credit analyses, financial models, cash-flow and collateral schedules, covenant sensitivity calculations, guarantor analyses, and risk-rating recommendations.
• Recommend transaction structures, terms, conditions, controls, collateral, and guarantors while evaluating company, bank base-case, and downside scenarios.
• Partner with relationship managers and internal credit teams, participate in client calls and credit committees, and lead transaction execution with a Commercial Credit Analyst.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, plus 5 years of experience in commercial credit, public accounting, financial statement preparation and analysis, or another financial analysis discipline; an alternative education and experience pathway is available.
• Strong analytical skills, including financial modeling, credit metrics, financial ratios, data analysis, and trend analysis.
• Emerging proficiency in legal documentation, structural analysis, and independently structuring transactions.
• Understanding of financial regulatory requirements and commercial credit policy compliance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, organization, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a customer-facing role.

Nice to have

• Experience with Capital IQ, FactSet, or Bloomberg.
