Director, Provider Operations (Health Insurance)

Location: Tempe, Arizona, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days in-office per week, including Thursdays

Salary: $147,549–$193,658 per year, plus equity grants and annual performance bonuses

What you will do

• Set the strategy and provide operational oversight for the end-to-end provider data lifecycle, including credentialing, contract loading, and daily data management.
• Lead, coach, and develop a multi-tiered team of managers and individual contributors.
• Partner with Product, Technology, Markets, and Clinical Operations to design and deliver scalable provider operations capabilities.
• Architect data models, operating processes, governance, KPIs, and monitoring dashboards for scalable operations.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement automation, including RPA and AI integrations, to reduce manual work and processing times.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, CMS requirements, the No Surprises Act, and NCQA accreditation standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of operating experience.
• 10+ years of experience in operations, health insurance, data analysis, and/or consulting.
• 5+ years of experience building, coaching, and developing operational teams.
• 5+ years of experience with network operations, provider data management, and contracting processes.
• 5+ years of experience leading large-scale initiatives, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, and improving business processes.
• 5+ years of experience using data to influence business decisions and managing programs.

Nice to have

• SQL, Lean Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodology experience.
• Knowledge of data architecture, NCQA credentialing, CMS standards, and the No Surprises Act.
• Experience with enterprise-level master data management or provider data management systems.
• Experience applying AI, RPA, or analytics to improve roster accuracy and processing speed.
• Experience leading distributed teams and managing BPO or vendor partnerships.
