Full-Stack Backend Engineer (Java)

What you will do

• Maintain and improve a Kotlin-based application.
• Remediate architectural weaknesses and security vulnerabilities identified through audits and technical reviews.
• Improve application reliability, performance, auditability, and observability.
• Migrate deprecated APIs, update service integrations and internal SDKs, and maintain compatibility with platform dependencies, protobuf contracts, and framework changes.
• Collaborate with subject-matter experts and Support teams to triage and resolve production and customer-reported issues.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to feature and project work as roadmap needs require.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in modern web development with Java.
• Experience with MySQL, queue systems such as SQS, and AWS-deployed stacks.
• Experience using AI tooling for software development.
• Understanding of service reliability, error handling, debugging, distributed systems, and high-load environments.
• Experience building web applications with React and TypeScript.
• Willingness to work with Kotlin and Dart, along with strong communication, teamwork, adaptability, and initiative.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python or Dart.
• Experience with production database schema migrations and versioning.
