Associate Software Engineer (C/C++/Java)

Location: Herndon, Virginia, United States

Salary: $97,000–$116,400 annually for the Greater D.C. area; other listed U.S. ranges may apply based on geographic location.

What you will do

• Support software development and maintenance for Linux and Windows applications.
• Develop and maintain military mission systems and image-processing desktop applications.
• Apply object-oriented design, software patterns, modern design methods, and software lifecycle practices.
• Design and develop graphical user interfaces and interface software with hardware communications.
• Contribute to containerized and GPU-enabled software where applicable.

Requirements

• Be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or have completed the degree within the last 12 months.
• Have software development or maintenance experience.
• Have experience with C, C++, VC++, and/or Java, plus Windows operating systems.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
• Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Nice to have

• Hardware communications interfacing experience.
• Containerization experience with Docker or Kubernetes.
• GPU development experience, including CUDA.
