Plant Accountant (Manufacturing)

Salary: $70,400–$100,000 per year, plus an annual performance-based bonus

What you will do

• Coordinate plant accounting activities and maintain a complete, accurate general ledger.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, estimates, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare financial statements, variance analyses, forecasts, management reports, and plant performance data.
• Perform inventory accounting for finished goods, work-in-process, and raw materials, including valuation, yield analysis, reconciliations, and 90-day inventory reporting.
• Track capital expenditures, rebates, customer accounts, collections, payroll, and related financial transactions.
• Investigate discrepancies, support internal and external audits, guide accounting associates, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education; accounting or finance concentration preferred.
• Three years of experience in a business office or accounting department preferred, with exposure to general ledger, payroll, and/or accounts payable functions.
• Experience with financial systems for invoicing, credit and collections, expense reporting, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, preferably with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of standard accounting procedures, GAAP principles, and internal controls, including SOX 404 controls.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, containerboard, or corrugated packaging.
