Principal System Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina; hybrid workplace with a required minimum number of onsite days per week

Salary: $104,000–$143,000 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses

What you will do

• Engage with business collaborators and customers to understand challenges and requirements.
• Define products from a requirements perspective and analyze design risks.
• Translate customer needs, business constraints, and regulatory requirements into functional and performance requirements.
• Collaborate with system architects and engineers to define modules, concepts, environments, and system relationships.
• Ensure robust, reliable, and secure system interfaces and integrations.
• Maintain functional specifications and coordinate risk management, including hazard identification and mitigation using DFMEA and risk/hazard analysis.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Business Analyst, System Analyst, or in a similar requirements-definition role.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with complex hardware and software projects involving embedded systems, network communications, and web services.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including meeting leadership, conflict resolution, and presentations.
• Strategic problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make timely decisions with incomplete information.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
