Principal Test Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Lafayette, Colorado, United States of America; 25% travel required

Salary: $123,200–$184,800 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan

What you will do

• Design and develop manufacturing processes, procedures, production layouts, and workflows for complex electromechanical medical device assemblies.
• Lead manufacturing readiness for new product introductions, software releases, and design transfer initiatives.
• Optimize production processes to improve efficiency, quality, throughput, and regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate manufacturing equipment, machinery, and tooling performance and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Operations, Manufacturing, and engineering teams to improve product manufacturability and scalability.
• Drive SPC, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, inspection, testing, validation, and compliant production documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• At least 7 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes in a regulated industry.
• Experience leading cross-functional manufacturing projects from concept through implementation.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, process controls, product transfer, and production support.
• U.S. work authorization sponsorship is available exclusively for Principal-level roles and above; the role requires compliance with applicable U.S. work authorization requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing software releases and test automation in manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting software-enabled products, production software releases, and design transfer.
• Knowledge of low-volume, high-complexity capital equipment manufacturing.
• Experience with motors, sensors, electromechanical assemblies, DMAIC, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
