Systems Engineer (Medical Imaging)

Location: Regular onsite presence required in Newark, Delaware, United States

Salary: $78,000–$122,100 annual base salary, plus bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Contribute to the specification, design, component selection, integration, verification, and validation of medical imaging systems and electromechanical subsystems.
• Define system architectures, specifications, and requirements based on customer needs and clinical use cases.
• Maintain traceability between system and subsystem requirements, product risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting at system and subsystem levels and collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, scientific, and product teams.
• Define test methods and conditions, complete design documentation and Engineering Change Orders, and support quality assurance activities.
• Create project schedules, track progress, manage multiple projects, and support design transfer to manufacturing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 1–2 years of experience with a technical bachelor’s degree, or 0–2 years with a master’s degree.
• Understanding of systems engineering methodologies, electromechanical design, embedded software development, and integration across electrical, mechanical, and software components.
• Knowledge of physical and mathematical modeling tools, Product Lifecycle Management systems, technical documentation, and presentations.
• Knowledge of medical device regulations and standards, including FDA QSR, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, and IEC 62304.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, collaboration, and project management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in the medical device field.
• SolidWorks experience.
