Backend Engineering Manager (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote-first role for candidates in the United States

What you will do

• Lead the Backend Engineering skill community and manage the team responsible for the hirify.global Platform backend.
• Champion the vision and execution of backend components, including streaming data ingest, detection processing, baseline learning, asset reconciliation, core platform APIs, and platform coordination.
• Mentor engineers in technical expertise and career development.
• Collaborate closely with engineering leaders, technical leads, and product managers in cross-functional product teams.
• Provide technical input during software design, development, testing, and release.
• Support fielded production deployments, including occasional development, triage, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience leading and building technical teams.
• 5+ years of experience developing software applications with microservice architectures or leading teams that do so.
• Hands-on software engineering experience with strong backend system design, distributed systems, and production-grade development fundamentals.
• Leadership experience in agile cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with Apache Flink, RabbitMQ, or Hashicorp Vault.
• Experience in cybersecurity, OT, or ICS environments.
