Sr. Specialist, Project Engineering – Propulsion Systems

Location: Onsite at the Canoga Park, California facility; up to 10% business travel to suppliers and other production sites

Salary: $106,500–$197,500 per year

What you will do

• Execute day-to-day project engineering activities for rocket engine development programs on the Combustion Devices Team.
• Manage the end-to-end manufacturing and delivery of critical combustion devices hardware.
• Support design, technical analysis, fabrication, and hot fire test validation of combustion device products.
• Address technical issues, failure investigations, improvement projects, technical plans, and non-conformance resolutions.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, supplier management, production, supply chain, customers, and program managers.
• Brief management and customers on assigned project status and technical matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of relevant project engineering experience, or a graduate degree and at least 4 years of related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, at least 10 years of relevant project engineering experience.
• Ability to work onsite at the Canoga Park, California facility.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
• Experience supporting projects with minimal oversight and communicating with customers and suppliers.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes including design, product specifications, 3D printing, welding, brazing, machining, and tooling.
• Ability to interpret propulsion system technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with government propulsion customers and prime contractors.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
