Senior Embedded Security Engineer (C/C++)

Location: Remote within the United States; San Francisco office location

Salary: $138,000–$184,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Architect and develop cryptographic services and security-critical infrastructure across the hardware product line.
• Implement secure and authenticated boot flows to protect device and firmware integrity.
• Design secure OTA update systems with encryption, signing, authentication, and anti-rollback protections.
• Integrate security provisioning into factory manufacturing processes and establish device identities and root-of-trust architectures using HSMs and TPMs.
• Design secure debug architectures for interfaces such as JTAG, SWD, and UART.
• Harden Linux and POSIX-based operating systems and prototype security improvements to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience in hardware security, embedded systems engineering, or a closely related field.
• Hands-on experience configuring and deploying TPMs and HSMs.
• Strong programming proficiency in C/C++, Rust, and Python.
• Experience designing and implementing operating-system-level security solutions.
• Expertise in bare-metal embedded systems development and firmware security.
• Experience building and configuring custom Linux distributions with Yocto Linux.
