TL;DR
Mechanical Engineer (Early Career, Exceptional Talent) (Aerospace) (fuel, lube, and engine systems): Designing and integrating mechanical subsystems for Superpower gas turbines and Symphony turbofan engines with an accent on CAD, mechanical analysis, manufacturability, and hardware testing. Focus on building components for extreme operating conditions, developing assembly processes, and using component and system-level test data to drive engineering decisions.

Location: 100% onsite at Boom's headquarters in Centennial, Colorado, United States

Salary: $87,000–$117,000 per year, plus potential equity, flexible PTO, and other benefits.

Company

hirify.global develops the Superpower gas turbine for AI data centers and the Symphony medium-bypass turbofan for supersonic aircraft.

What you will do

  • Own mechanical subsystems such as fuel, lubrication, cooling, and balance-of-plant systems from concept through analysis, drawing release, and engine integration.
  • Design components and assemblies that balance performance, reliability, manufacturability, and testability.
  • Plan and support assembly processes with manufacturing engineers.
  • Design and run component- and system-level tests, including hardware instrumentation, data collection, and results interpretation.
  • Collaborate with propulsion, electrical, and manufacturing teams to integrate subsystems into complete engines.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent hands-on hardware experience.
  • At least one internship or co-op involving the design, analysis, or construction of real-world mechanical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D CAD modeling using tools such as NX, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
  • Experience with structural and thermal finite element analysis tools.
  • Strong fundamentals in statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, machine design, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics.
  • Must be eligible to access ITAR- and EAR-controlled information and technology under applicable U.S. export control laws.

Culture & Benefits

  • Early-career engineers receive ownership of significant mechanical systems and real hardware.
  • Work includes CAD, analysis, machine-shop activities, and test-cell operations.
  • Flexible PTO and potential long-term incentives or equity.
  • On-site meals and gym access.
