Senior Manager, Hardware R&D (Medical Devices)

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina, United States; minimum onsite days required weekly under a flexible workplace policy

Salary: $152,000–$209,000 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses

What you will do

• Lead sustaining engineering projects across multiple medical product lines, meeting quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
• Direct a technical team and take ownership of team deliverables and functional excellence.
• Develop innovative solutions to complex hardware and embedded-system problems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and project managers on planning and execution.
• Own hardware build and manufacturing processes and maintain relationships with manufacturing partners.
• Drive product and process quality improvements, including hardware product sustaining activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 10 years of related experience, or a master’s degree with 5 or more years of related experience.
• Experience building teams focused on high-quality product engineering.
• Subject-matter expertise in designing complex embedded systems for manufacturing; medical industry experience is advantageous.
• Experience supporting electronics manufacturing and hardware validation.
• Experience with sustaining engineering, including obsolescence management, manufacturing support, and component sourcing.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot product issues, perform root cause analysis, manage competing priorities, and engage teams.
