Senior Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++)

Location: Onsite in Herndon, Virginia, with daily office attendance required

Salary: $136,256–$204,384 USD annualized

What you will do

• Design, develop, and test embedded software for offensive cybersecurity research and mission-critical operational capabilities.
• Build target-specific instrumentation and introspection tools.
• Design high-fidelity emulation targets for embedded platforms.
• Create and operationalize computer network operations tools and capabilities for embedded targets.
• Execute technical tasks autonomously while developing an understanding of customer mission requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or comparable professional experience and relevant project work.
• At least 5 years of experience in embedded software, security tooling, emulation, or computer network operations development.
• Experience with a low-level programming language such as C or C++ and a scripting language such as Python or Bash.
• Ability to work onsite in the Herndon office every day.
• Active Top Secret clearance required, with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.

Nice to have

• Understanding of embedded system design, including interrupts, MMIO, and peripherals.
• System-level programming experience with memory management, task scheduling, and concurrency.
• Experience with QEMU, virtualization, custom toolchains, build systems, or introspection tooling.
• Knowledge of computer architecture and basic reverse engineering skills.
