Staff Device Program Manager (IoT)

Location: Vancouver, Canada or Carlsbad, California, USA. Occasional travel to factories in Vietnam, Taiwan, or China is required.

Salary: $130,000–$175,000 per year, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Manage device development projects from kickoff through mass production, including schedules, engineering actions, BOMs, build plans, and material planning.
• Coordinate hardware, firmware, client and cloud software, mechanical, industrial design, and RF engineering development.
• Manage ODM partners, overseas factory builds, manufacturing activities, and engineering sample distribution.
• Oversee regulatory certifications, product SKUs, collateral development, test plans, test reports, and end-to-end system testing.
• Track Alpha and Beta trial issues, troubleshoot hardware and system problems, and support customer care with field issues.
• Lead design reviews, project meetings, sustaining activities, post-launch work, and improvements to development processes.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
• Strong coordination, written communication, oral communication, teamwork, and project leadership skills.
• Ability to understand, test, and troubleshoot end-to-end product functions across hardware, firmware, applications, and cloud systems.
• Knowledge of battery technologies, hardware design, bug-tracking tools, schematics, and PCB layout review.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to drive issues through resolution in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Software development, programming, or scripting experience.
• Mandarin language skills.
