Instrumentation Technician (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Fabricate, install, verify, and document wiring harnesses and cable assemblies from raw wire through connector termination and continuity checks.
• Install and bond pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, load cells, and vibration sensors on engine and structural test hardware.
• Set up, monitor, troubleshoot, and tear down instrumentation during active test operations.
• Integrate engine health monitoring instrumentation systems according to installation drawings.
• Configure data acquisition channels, perform functional and acceptance testing, and verify calibration.
• Investigate anomalies, isolate fault sources, participate in root-cause analysis, and maintain build records, calibration logs, test data packages, nonconformance reports, and deviation records.

Requirements

• Hands-on avionics installation or flight-test support experience.
• Direct experience instrumenting gas turbines, propulsion systems, aerospace test articles, or experimental prototypes.
• Proficiency fabricating wire harnesses and cable assemblies from schematics, including sensor installation and bonding.
• Working knowledge of data acquisition systems, including channel configuration, signal conditioning, and calibration verification.
• Experience with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 and awareness of MIL specifications.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations under ITAR and EAR.

Nice to have

• FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate or FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License.
• Military avionics maintenance experience or flight-test instrumentation experience.
• NI LabVIEW, IADS, or Curtiss-Wright DAQ configuration experience.
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 or NASA-STD-8739.4 soldering and wire-harness certification.
• CAD navigation experience and the ability to work across electrical and mechanical domains.
