Location: Remote within the USA or Canada, limited to UTC-4 through UTC-8 timezones. Core collaboration hours are 9:30 AMβ4:30 PM Pacific, with occasional evening calls for overseas vendor collaboration.
Pay: $55β70 USD per hour, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do
- Create and integrate 2D artwork, 3D models, textures, VFX, materials, shaders, and animations in Unity.
- Handle cameras, lighting, reflections, set dressing, particles, surfaces, rigging, and physics.
- Optimize and profile visual elements for suitable frame rates and load times.
- Prototype visual concepts and troubleshoot art problems in the game.
- Collaborate with art, narrative, design, engineering, writing, and management teams to align visuals with the game's style and themes.
- Mentor artists, explain technical art concerns, maintain documentation, and contribute to testing and project planning.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional technical art experience in videogame development using Unity.
- Experience across the full videogame lifecycle, from concept and prototyping through launch and support.
- Understanding of Unity render pipelines, perspective, lighting, technical art best practices, source control, and project branching strategies.
- Experience with professional art tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, 3ds Max, Blender, or Adobe Substance Painter.
- Strong written, visual, and verbal English communication and presentation skills.
- Must reside and be authorized to work in the USA or Canada; H-1B transfers and visa sponsorship are unavailable.
Nice to have
- Strong 3D modeling and texturing skills, including work in 3D space.
- Experience with orthographic asset views, ZBrush, Python or Lua scripting, and UI design.
- Location in a hub metro such as Seattle, Los Angeles, or Edmonton.
