Senior Software Engineer (Java/Python)

Location: Bolling AFB, DC; U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph are required.

Salary: $140,000–$187,000–$205,700 annually in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Python.
• Build backend services, data-ingest pipelines, and enterprise application components.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, data engineers, and UI/UX developers on end-to-end solutions.
• Develop automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes in Agile environments.
• Troubleshoot defects, performance issues, and integration challenges across distributed systems.
• Support cloud-native deployments, containerization, and secure software development for Develop-Low / Deploy-High workflows.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with CI polygraph.
• 2–5 years of software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with Java, Python, RESTful APIs, web services, backend integrations, relational and NoSQL databases, and SQL.
• Experience with Git, version control, and Agile software development methodologies.
• U.S. person status may be required under applicable ITAR export-control regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring Boot, Flask, FastAPI, Django, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD implementation, microservices, event-driven systems, and API gateways.
• Security+ certification or knowledge of secure coding and RMF principles.
• Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, or federal government programs.
