Senior Frontend / Architect (React / Next.js / SSR)

Location: Austin, Texas, USA; the role requires some travel.

What you will do

• Architect scalable frontend systems across web and mobile platforms.
• Build reusable UI components, shared design systems, and frontend infrastructure.
• Develop high-performance real-time experiences for social feeds, messaging, notifications, live scores, and match interactions.
• Create video-heavy interfaces, creator experiences, and mobile-first responsive applications.
• Collaborate with backend, product, and design teams on APIs, event systems, and real-time workflows.
• Define frontend standards, engineering direction, and long-term technical quality.

Requirements

• 7–12+ years of professional frontend or full-stack engineering experience building consumer applications at scale.
• Strong expertise with React, Next.js, TypeScript, modern JavaScript ecosystems, and frontend architecture.
• Deep understanding of SSR, hydration, caching, rendering strategies, SEO, performance, accessibility, and usability.
• Experience building real-time interfaces using feeds, messaging, notifications, WebSockets, or event-driven systems.
• Experience integrating frontend systems with REST, GraphQL, gRPC, WebSockets, or similar backend architectures.
• Experience with responsive mobile-first applications, state management, reusable components, testing, build systems, GitHub workflows, and CI/CD.

• Experience with video-heavy products, streaming, animation, or highly interactive interfaces.
• Experience working alongside Rust backend infrastructure.
• Experience with AI-powered consumer experiences or products serving millions of users.
• Startup experience building products from zero to one.
