Sr. Software Architect - Java Development

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; the role may also be performed at the Denver Campus.

Salary: $113,368.92–$195,561.39 annually.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and design of enterprise-level software systems aligned with business objectives and scalability requirements.
• Define product specifications, architecture choices, and technology recommendations.
• Write and review clean, maintainable Java code while debugging and optimizing applications for performance and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and guide architectural discussions, estimates, and technical decisions.
• Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve system scalability, performance, security, and engineering practices.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of software engineering experience, including architectural and design responsibilities.
• Strong Java proficiency with Spring, Hibernate, JPA, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and data structures.
• Experience designing large-scale distributed systems and enterprise applications.
• Experience with cloud platforms, microservices, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, Docker, Kubernetes, and SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Strategic technology planning and emerging technologies experience.
