Process and Technology Engineer - (E3) (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Tempe, Arizona, United States; night-shift production work required. Travel up to 10% of the time; relocation is not eligible.

Salary: $108,000–$148,500 per year, plus potential bonus and stock awards.

What you will do

• Design process engineering experiments, collect and analyze data, and prepare technical reports.
• Characterize manufacturing hardware and troubleshoot complex process issues through root-cause analysis.
• Measure film properties, interpret results, and generate internal and external product documentation.
• Work with customers, vendors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and implement new technologies and analytical instrumentation.
• Collaborate with R&D teams on semiconductor and display manufacturing projects.
• Support junior colleagues and lead project teams when needed.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of material properties, phase transformations, and microstructure–performance relationships.
• Familiarity with failure analysis techniques such as SEM, EDS, and XRD.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic production environment.
• Ability to work night shifts and provide technical support to customers across Asia, Europe, and the United States.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of experience in ceramic manufacturing, process engineering, or R&D.
• Experience with CVD, PVD, ALD, PECVD, or other thin-film deposition techniques.
• Experience with SPC, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing.
• Proficiency with JMP, Excel, Minitab, or Python for data analysis.
• Experience supporting high-tech customers and leading cross-functional projects.
