C++ Software Engineer (AdTech)

Location: Chicago, Illinois; two days onsite required

Salary: $109,759.26–$164,638.89 per year

What you will do

• Design and build data-driven and model-driven features for marketing campaigns.
• Scale distributed applications and infrastructure supporting the Buyercloud ad-serving platform.
• Optimize algorithms and software architecture to improve performance and reduce cloud hosting costs.
• Extend observability systems to capture issues and generate alerts.
• Participate in on-call rotations and act as an escalation contact for service incidents.
• Create system documentation, playbooks, and instructional manuals.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience; relevant experience listed as 5–7 years.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of building systems at scale, performance optimization, scaling, and data modeling.
• Strong software architecture skills and experience with compiled languages; C++ is preferred, with Java, Rust, and Go also relevant.
• Experience working in a Linux ecosystem.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, variable schedules, and with colleagues across multiple remote locations and time zones.
