Framework Software Engineer (C/C++)

Location: Remote within the United States; Seattle, WA

Salary: $145,000–$160,000 annually, plus bonus and benefits

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance services for core Framework systems.
• Implement and enhance protocol support across networking layers.
• Participate in technical design, architecture decisions, documentation, code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with Product, platform, infrastructure, and cloud engineering partners on scalable solutions.
• Investigate production and performance issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Contribute to platform modernization, observability, reliability, and on-call readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, STEM, or a related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience delivering production software.
• Strong expertise in C and C++, with additional experience in Go and Python.
• Experience developing on Linux systems, including multithreading, memory management, and IPC.
• Experience building performance-critical systems and debugging complex issues with tools such as GDB, core dumps, and performance analyzers.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, packet processing, data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.

Nice to have

• Experience with HTTP, SMB, Kerberos, TLS, Microsoft protocols, or similar network protocols.
• Exposure to AWS, cloud platforms, or distributed systems.
• Experience with observability, on-call practices, and production systems.
• Scripting experience with Python or a similar language.
