TL;DR
Senior Credit Loss Accounting Analyst (Credit Risk and Financial Reporting): Supporting credit loss forecasting, allowance for credit losses calculations, and loan accounting for bank portfolios with an accent on credit risk analysis, accounting standards, and regulatory reporting. Focus on developing and monitoring loss forecasting models, analyzing portfolio performance, preparing SEC and regulatory disclosures, and presenting quarterly results to executive management and the Board of Directors.

What you will do

  • Support the allowance for credit losses process, including model development, execution, analysis, documentation, and quarterly estimation.
  • Analyze credit performance across portfolio segments and identify key drivers of portfolio results.
  • Monitor loss forecasting and allowance for credit losses models and document estimation assumptions.
  • Prepare credit loss journal entries, SEC disclosures, regulatory reports, reconciliations, and internal controls.
  • Provide schedules and analysis for audits, regulatory examinations, model governance, and internal reporting.
  • Present quarterly credit loss results and reporting materials to executive management and the Board of Directors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative or finance discipline.
  • 5+ years of related analytics experience; banking experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and advanced credit risk concepts, including PD, LGD, EAD, vintage effects, lifecycle effects, and segmentation strategies.
  • Strong statistical knowledge and experience with or familiarity with credit risk forecasting models such as roll rate, vintage, regression, and probabilistic models.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, and PowerPoint, including Visual Basic, Excel macros, and financial modeling.
  • Knowledge of SAS, SQL, ODBC, or OLEDB is desirable; ability to travel if required and meet deadlines is expected.
