HPC Storage Engineer (HPC)

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and operate HPC storage systems and parallel or distributed filesystems such as Lustre, GPFS, BeeGFS, and Ceph.
• Own data movement workflows including ingestion, replication, tiering, and archiving across environments.
• Optimize filesystem, storage, and high-performance I/O behavior for large-scale parallel workloads.
• Design and tune load-balancing strategies across storage targets, metadata services, and data movement pipelines.
• Troubleshoot storage, I/O, and data movement issues across HPC compute clusters.
• Build automation for storage provisioning, monitoring, lifecycle management, and integration with compute and networking systems.

Requirements

• Production experience with parallel or distributed filesystems.
• Strong Linux systems administration skills and experience with high-performance I/O, data locality, and throughput optimization.
• Proficiency in large-scale distributed systems development, preferably in C++.
• Experience troubleshooting complex performance and reliability issues across storage and compute stacks.
• Experience with data transfer tools, object storage, and hierarchical storage management.
• Experience integrating storage with HPC schedulers such as Slurm and supporting scientific, ML/AI, or other data-intensive workloads.
