Principal Product Manager (AI)

Location: Redwood City, California, United States; hybrid

Base salary: $225,000–$325,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Own the product strategy for turning frontier research into shippable features across Canvas, Agents, and the model platform.
• Shape research priorities around enterprise needs in marketing, advertising, and entertainment.
• Establish feedback loops between research, product, go-to-market, and forward-deployed teams.
• Interpret evaluations and research findings to identify high-leverage capabilities and make product bets.
• Build prototypes using models and prompts to validate ideas before committing engineering resources.
• Own the research-to-product handoff and define the quality bar for shipping.

Requirements

• Principal- or Staff-level product management experience bridging research and product at an AI lab or applied AI company.
• Comfort working in a research environment, including reading and interpreting evaluations.
• Experience shipping products that originated in research.
• Technical depth to build prototypes, work with models, write prompts, and test hypotheses.
• High agency, a general-manager mindset, and the ability to influence without authority.

Nice to have

• Research PM, Applied Research PM, or Labs PM experience at a frontier AI company.
• Background in multimodal AI, with Python and SQL proficiency.
• Experience defining evaluation frameworks and production quality bars.
• Founder-type background or experience in marketing, advertising, or entertainment.
