Founding Product Manager (AI)

Salary: $200,000–$300,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Act as the first product hire and establish product strategy, scoping, decision-making, and shipping practices.
• Own product direction with the founders, translating insights and vision into high-impact, buildable plans.
• Define AI agent behavior, tool usage, automation boundaries, and human-in-the-loop experiences for insurance workflows.
• Conduct discovery with brokers, underwriters, and carriers to convert complex operational processes into intuitive products.
• Shape a universal assistant that can read documents, access customer systems, draft quotes, and complete end-to-end work.
• Develop products for plain-language agent creation, multi-day case handling, and self-improving workflows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product management experience, including significant work at early-stage or high-growth companies.
• Track record of shipping products that transform complex professional workflows.
• Strong technical understanding of AI agents and LLMs, with the ability to prototype ideas and reason about engineering trade-offs.
• Deep understanding of LLM capabilities and how to turn them into trustworthy products.
• Strong product discovery, written communication, specification-writing, and builder skills.
• Must work on-site in San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Background in insurance, reinsurance, or financial services.
• Experience building a product from 0 to 1 and establishing supporting processes.
• Experience with integration-first products embedded in customers' existing tools.
• Comfort conducting quantitative analysis.
