PMO Lead - EMEA (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design and implement the PMO operating model, including governance structures, project lifecycles, reporting standards, and delivery tooling.
• Assess the current project landscape and create a phased plan for a scalable PMO suited to a regulated trading environment.
• Build, recruit, lead, and develop a small high-performing PMO team while remaining hands-on in delivery.
• Oversee portfolio planning, investment prioritisation, benefits realisation, return on investment reporting, dependencies, risks, and resource constraints.
• Establish project intake, demand management, approval, change control, escalation, and programme governance processes.
• Advise senior leadership, facilitate steering committees, and improve delivery through process optimisation, automation, data, and tooling.

Requirements

• Proven experience establishing or evolving a PMO function, ideally in financial services or another regulated environment.
• Experience managing complex, multi-workstream portfolios covering technology, regulatory change, and business transformation at regional or global scale.
• Strong people leadership, coaching, stakeholder management, communication, and constructive challenge skills.
• Experience designing and embedding governance frameworks, reporting structures, project methodologies, and organisational change.
• Working knowledge of project and programme tools such as MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, or equivalent.
• Ability to use Agile and hybrid delivery approaches and operate effectively in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in trading, capital markets, or investment management.
• Exposure to regulatory change programmes such as MiFID II, EMIR, or DORA.
• Professional project management qualification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or MSP.
