Principal Technical Program Manager (AI)

Location: Ireland; flexible-hybrid work with occasional on-site sessions, team-building, or other in-person events.

Salary: €94,500–€157,500 per year, with potential discretionary annual bonus or commissions.

What you will do

• Lead complex, cross-functional technical programs from strategy through execution.
• Drive initiatives involving technology asset registries, CMDB capabilities, engineering standards, governance, and modernization.
• Partner with engineering, architecture, security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to manage dependencies, risks, tradeoffs, and decisions.
• Establish lightweight governance and operating mechanisms that improve accountability, visibility, and execution.
• Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve program execution, engineering practices, and operational effectiveness.
• Translate complex technical and organizational issues into executive recommendations and mentor TPMs and other program leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience leading complex cross-functional technical programs or large-scale technology initiatives.
• Understanding of system architecture, technical dependencies, and operational risks.
• Experience working directly with engineering and technical teams to drive plans, decisions, and outcomes.
• Strong judgment and communication skills, including the ability to influence technical and executive stakeholders through ambiguity.
• Experience mentoring others and establishing program management best practices.

Nice to have

• Experience in enterprise technology, infrastructure, security, or centralized technology organizations.
• Experience with technology asset management, CMDB, engineering governance, or similar cross-organizational capabilities.
• Experience using AI or automation to improve operational efficiency and execution.
