Sell Side Research Associate, Technology

Location: New York, New York; office-based

Annual base pay: $115,000–$140,000, plus discretionary bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Provide analytical support to the Senior Analyst covering the technology sector.
• Conduct proprietary research, customer and partner interviews, and industry surveys.
• Build financial models and forecasts and perform financial and valuation analysis.
• Create competitive profiles using company documents, SEC and regulatory filings, industry publications, trade shows, and online data services.
• Interact with company management, the internal sales force, and institutional investors.
• Monitor and evaluate company news and events.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of analytical work experience in finance, accounting, engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent research, writing, communication, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Independent thinking, self-motivation, and willingness to learn in a dynamic industry.
• Must not require sponsorship for U.S. work authorization now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Prior sell-side or buy-side equity research experience.
• Knowledge of the technology sector, including hardware, software, or internet companies.
• Series 7, 63, 86, and/or 87 licenses.
• Demonstrated interest in financial markets and a career in sell-side equity research.
