Buyer (Multiple Openings)

Location: Austin, TX or Santa Clara, CA, United States; onsite role

Salary: $64,000–$88,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage assigned purchasing groups, high volumes of parts, suppliers, purchase orders, and material requirements.
• Issue RFQs, evaluate bids, select suppliers, and negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
• Monitor supplier commitments, delivery, quality, cost, responsiveness, and problem resolution.
• Source and manage materials for New Product Introduction programs, including complex custom components.
• Own parts from engineering release through production readiness, coordinating reviews, schedules, escalations, and delivery tracking.
• Identify procurement improvements, cost-reduction opportunities, supply risks, and inventory optimization actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, operations management, engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Buyer II requires at least 2 years of purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience; Buyer III requires at least 4 years.
• Semiconductor, electronics, capital equipment, advanced manufacturing, or other high-tech industry experience is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience sourcing raw materials, mechanical subassemblies, electronic assemblies, plastics, stamped or ground parts, CNC-machined components, mills, lathes, or other precision-engineered custom components.
• NPI sourcing, cost modeling, cost analysis, supplier negotiations, strategic sourcing, inventory planning, or supply chain risk management experience.
• Program management experience involving complex projects, schedules, suppliers, and cross-functional resources.
