Global Supply Manager (Robotics Hardware)

Location: San Mateo, United States; requires 25–40% international travel.

Base salary: $100,000–$300,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Partner with R&D, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering teams during Proto, EVT, and DVT stages.
• Drive supplier involvement, DFM feedback, and sourcing of long-lead development components.
• Manage RFQs, purchase orders, shipment tracking, expediting, material receipt, inventory allocation, kitting, and local logistics.
• Develop global sourcing strategies for actuators, motors, sensors, cameras, PCBAs, custom silicon, and other robotic hardware.
• Transition hardware from prototypes through NPI into scaled production with domestic and international manufacturing partners.
• Lead commercial negotiations and supplier performance reviews covering cost, quality, and delivery.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, global supply management, or technical procurement in hardware, robotics, consumer electronics, automotive, or aerospace.
• Experience supporting engineering teams through EVT, DVT, or PVT, including prototype sourcing, ERP/MRP purchasing, purchase order generation, and shipment tracking.
• Experience taking electromechanical components or systems from concept through NPI and scaled production.
• Experience managing suppliers for PCBAs, precision machining, sensors, or optical systems.
• Ability to interpret 2D technical drawings, mechanical GD&T, and electrical schematics.
• BS/BA in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related quantitative field.

Nice to have

• Experience sourcing autonomous mobile robots, warehouse automation systems, or humanoid robotic hardware.
• Experience establishing supply chain and procurement processes from scratch in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Familiarity with inventory tracking, kitting, and material management in R&D or pilot production.
