Datacentre Operations Specialist (Infrastructure)

Location: Based in Hong Kong, with travel to data centers within China approximately 10% of the time

What you will do

• Design deployment plans for new data center equipment using industry best practices.
• Coordinate shipping, equipment moves, inventory, cabling, and spare parts across locations.
• Install, cable, configure, test, and troubleshoot server and network hardware.
• Install and configure server operating systems in PXE environments, using Linux knowledge to deploy network equipment.
• Deploy Smart PDUs and manage and monitor power consumption.
• Maintain high standards for data center security, documentation, safety, cleanliness, organization, and supply management.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working in a data center environment.
• Strong knowledge of data center best practices and cabling methodology.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and the ability to troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity issues.
• Experience with server and network hardware from vendors such as Dell, Cisco, Arista, and Ciena, as well as OTDR testing tools.
• Ability to design, deploy, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber cabling.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication and fluent Mandarin are required.

Nice to have

• CDCTP or equivalent certification.
