Infrastructure Operations Operator (AI Infrastructure)

Location: EMEA; Norway. Full-time, shift-based work with on-call participation, extended hours during critical incidents, and approximately 25% travel to other Nscale data centres.

What you will do

• Operate and monitor AI data centre infrastructure while supporting availability, reliability, performance, and SLA adherence.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and infrastructure issues, taking complex problems through to resolution.
• Lead and support incident response, coordinate with engineering and infrastructure teams, and contribute to root cause analysis.
• Handle advanced customer support requests and technical escalations with clear incident communication.
• Mentor junior operators, coordinate hardware vendors, and support installation, replacement, maintenance, and break-fix activities.
• Improve operational workflows, create runbooks, and maintain accurate infrastructure documentation.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in data centre operations, infrastructure operations, technical support, or a similar environment.
• Strong understanding of server hardware, data centre infrastructure, networking fundamentals, and infrastructure connectivity.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving complex hardware and software problems using structured troubleshooting.
• Experience working with SLAs and service management processes, supported by strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to mentor less experienced colleagues, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and influence without direct authority.
• Availability for shift work, on-call rotations, extended hours during critical incidents, and travel to other Nscale data centres.

Nice to have

• Experience in large-scale or mission-critical data centre environments.
• Hands-on server installation, maintenance, or break-fix experience.
• Exposure to cloud, HPC, AI, or GPU infrastructure.
• Experience supporting customer-facing infrastructure services.
• Relevant technical certifications or equivalent practical experience.
