Business Operations Analyst (Middle/Back Office), Hong Kong (Financial Markets)

What you will do

• Reconcile positions, cash, and trade activity before market open.
• Reconcile front-office profit and loss estimates with prime broker reporting and analyze accruals, charges, expenses, and commissions.
• Validate trader end-of-day closing prices and resolve position or cash discrepancies with external brokers.
• Support trading desks with margin obligations and onboarding of new relationships alongside legal and compliance.
• Improve operational systems and streamline daily processes.
• Maintain operational processes in line with regulatory requirements and support expansion into new products and markets.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in a similar financial-markets operations role.
• Strong operational knowledge of financial markets and trade flow through settlement.
• Knowledge of equity derivatives, particularly options and equities.
• Ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and broker contacts.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, organized, proactive, adaptable, and able to prioritize according to materiality and risk.
• Knowledge of SQL, VBA, and Python, including the use of AI tools, is highly regarded.

Nice to have

• Knowledge or experience of Asian markets.
