Security Engineering Lead

Location: Torrance, California, United States. U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status is required to comply with ITAR export regulations. The position requires obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Salary: $156,000–$195,000 for M3 or $185,000–$232,000 for M4, plus equity and discretionary performance bonuses.

What you will do

• Own the architecture, operation, log onboarding, detection rules, tuning, and alerting lifecycle of the SIEM platform.
• Build and operate EDR capabilities, including agent deployment, policy management, alert triage, and SIEM integration.
• Develop UEBA use cases, behavioral baselines, risk-scoring models, and insider-risk detection workflows.
• Manage FortiGate firewalls, network segmentation, Cloudflare VPN and ZTNA, email security, and security infrastructure across on-premises, AWS GovCloud, and Microsoft GCC environments.
• Design and maintain DLP controls across endpoint, network, cloud, email, web, and SaaS platforms in alignment with CMMC and NIST requirements.
• Lead security engineering hiring and development while partnering with infrastructure, network operations, mission management, legal, compliance, and product engineering teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of security engineering or DevSecOps experience with technical leadership experience.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, FortiGate firewall administration, network segmentation, and production security operations.
• Experience securing workloads in AWS GovCloud and/or Microsoft GCC environments.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tools, plus scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience administering Okta, including SSO, MFA, lifecycle management, and SIEM integration.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status is required.

Nice to have

• Active TS clearance or higher.
• Experience with Cloudflare Zero Trust, Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Panther, CrowdStrike Falcon, or SentinelOne.
• Experience with UEBA for insider-risk detection and experience in aerospace, defense, critical infrastructure, or other regulated industries.
• ITAR compliance experience or CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent certification.
