IT Engineer (Security)

Location: New York City; hybrid, typically in-office 4 days per week

Salary: $130,000–$155,000 a year plus equity

What you will do

• Own day-to-day IT operations, internal support processes, account provisioning, deprovisioning, and escalation management.
• Manage SaaS integrations, automation, onboarding, offboarding, asset management, office networks, Wi-Fi, printers, and conference rooms.
• Define and implement company-wide IT and security policies in partnership with Operations, HR, Engineering, and end users.
• Configure and maintain secure baselines for Okta, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, and other IT platforms.
• Harden company-managed endpoints and operate endpoint protection, mobile device management, authentication, SSO, MFA, and access-control tooling.
• Identify and remediate security misconfigurations and hygiene issues while maintaining documentation, runbooks, and operational controls.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in IT, security engineering, or systems administration.
• Hands-on experience with several of Okta, Google Workspace administration, JAMF, macOS hardening, endpoint protection tools, SaaS configuration management, and automation.
• Strong understanding of least privilege, zero trust, endpoint hardening, and patching.
• Experience implementing and maintaining SSO and MDM integrations.
• Strong troubleshooting, systems-level thinking, written documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in the New York City hybrid arrangement, typically in the office 4 days per week.

Nice to have

• Startup or high-growth company experience.
• Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance frameworks.
• Python, Bash, MDM API, or Okta Workflows automation experience.
• Experience with Slack Enterprise, ChatGPT Enterprise, Microsoft 365, iManage, Intapp, or Litera.
• Security certifications such as Security+, Okta Certified Professional, or CISSP.
