TL;DR

SOC Manager (Cybersecurity): Architecting and scaling security operations across cloud-native infrastructure with an accent on SIEM, EDR, threat intelligence, and automated detection. Focus on leading incident response, building high-fidelity detection and threat hunting programs, and embedding resilient security controls into mission-critical platforms.

Location: Remote, but candidates must reside in one of the approved U.S. hiring hubs: DC/Maryland/Virginia; Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, NC; Denver/Colorado Springs, CO; or Dallas/Fort Worth, TX.

Salary: $205,000–$215,000 base salary per year, plus potential equity awards and discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

  • Define the SOC strategy, roadmap, threat intelligence operations, detection frameworks, and defensive maturity metrics.
  • Build and tune detection logic across cloud infrastructure, identity systems, and endpoints while reducing alert noise.
  • Lead incident command, containment, recovery, and post-mortems that drive measurable engineering improvements.
  • Govern SIEM, EDR, automated playbooks, vendor relationships, and MDR partnerships.
  • Establish proactive threat hunting programs and integrate external intelligence into defensive operations.
  • Partner with engineering, product, and IT leaders while mentoring and scaling the security operations team.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in cyber operations, incident response, and threat intelligence, including at least 3 years leading security operations teams.
  • Deep experience with SIEM architecture, EDR deployment, incident response frameworks, and detection engineering.
  • Experience securing AWS, Kubernetes, containers, and cloud logging pipelines.
  • Hands-on Python, Terraform, and SOAR playbook automation experience.
  • Experience with FedRAMP, DoD SRG, and CMMC compliance in regulated government or defense environments.
  • Ability to communicate technical risk and blast radius clearly and lead complex initiatives in high-growth environments.
