Cybersecurity Engineer (AI)

Location: Reston, Virginia, USA; hybrid work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field

Salary: $130,200–$195,400 USD annual base pay for Reston; additional US location ranges and Colorado-specific ranges may apply.

What you will do

• Own the infrastructure-as-code and platform foundation supporting security data and automation services.
• Design, build, and operate scalable automations and data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and routing security data.
• Extend CI/CD and cloud-security capabilities so services are deployable, observable, and secure by default.
• Turn partner requests into proposals, designs, production rollouts, and operationally ready services.
• Build integrations across SOAR, SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, ticketing systems, and enterprise platforms.
• Improve AI-augmented engineering practices through reusable scaffolds, shared skills, and code-review discipline.

Requirements

• Strong Python skills with production automation and integration experience, including APIs, Lambdas, batch jobs, testing, and code review.
• Deep hands-on experience with Terraform infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Working fluency across AWS services including Lambda, ECS, S3, IAM, KMS, VPC, and at least one compute service such as EMR, Batch, Glue, or EKS.
• Experience with Docker, modern deployment patterns, observability, operational readiness, runbooks, alarms, and SLOs.
• Working knowledge of identity and access management, secrets and key management, secure cloud configuration, vulnerabilities, incidents, identity data, and threat intelligence.
• Hybrid work requires at least 50% of each quarter in the office or in the field.

Nice to have

• Experience with SIEM, vulnerability scanners, identity systems, cloud security posture, secrets management, and security orchestration platforms.
• Experience building reusable Terraform modules, internal libraries, developer tooling, Slack bots, or Jira, PagerDuty, and ServiceNow integrations.
• Knowledge of Spark, Trino, Hive, S3 data lakes, SQL, shared schemas, and data contracts.
• Hands-on experience with Copilot, coding agents, LLM-based code review, agent frameworks, tracing, observability, or offline evaluation.
