Sybase IQ Database Administrator

What you will do

• Install, configure, upgrade, and administer Sybase IQ databases in Simplex and Multiplex environments.
• Monitor database health and optimize performance using Sysmon, DBCC, indexing strategies, and query tuning.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Manage user access, roles, and security compliance.
• Perform data migrations, replication, and synchronization across nodes.
• Automate routine DBA tasks, monitor alerts, and collaborate on troubleshooting and project delivery.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Sybase IQ architecture, Multiplex configuration, BCP, ddlgen, and Sybase Central.
• Proficiency in SQL/T-SQL and query optimization techniques.
• Experience with Sybase ASE, Replication Server, performance tuning, indexing, and deadlock management.
• Experience working with Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in Sybase IQ administration and development.

Nice to have

• SAP Sybase IQ certification.
