Manufacturing Engineering Director (Automotive)

Location: Onsite in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada; full-time presence at the plant is required.

Salary: CAD 165,000–214,300 per year.

What you will do

• Lead all technical manufacturing activities and provide strategic direction to engineering, facilities, maintenance, IT, and technical training teams.
• Drive continuous improvement using plant KPIs while maintaining operating budgets and production objectives.
• Develop talent and promote innovation, technical proficiency, and a workplace-of-choice environment.
• Build and maintain a strong plant-wide safety culture and own workplace safety system responsibilities.
• Forecast operational needs, negotiate and comply with labour agreements, and oversee technical projects delivered by internal and contract resources.
• Represent the plant in technical and strategic planning and help define the future of the Oshawa campus.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Extensive automotive manufacturing leadership experience focused on technical operations and plant management.
• Proven ability to lead teams, drive change, and foster innovation and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging stakeholders across the plant and wider organization.
• Must be able to work onsite full-time in Oshawa, Ontario.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in a technical field.
• 10+ years of automotive manufacturing or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Government relations experience and knowledge of manufacturing engineering standards, GMS principles, workplace safety systems, and plant-floor systems.
• Experience across multiple business units and demonstrated project or program management capability.
